Psy- Look at the Tie Break column. If two or more players have the same score, the one with higher Tie Break value comes through. If two players have the same score and Tie break - they both advance to the next round.

In a 5 persons group, how many goes to the next round if they haven't the same points? 1st and 2nd? or only the 1st one?

Mack50, you do bring up another good point about players with ratings established in their country and/or FIDE.   Right now, you have the option (not mandatory) to fill in your FIDE and/or USCF rating in your profile.  I suspect only those two options are available, rather than allowing all country's national ratings, as it could be very difficult for the admins to verify anything but those two.

Good points you bring up.

No need to apologize at all.  It was quite a legitimate question and asked for the right reasons.

From what I understand, member points are awarded/earned whenever you post anything (e.g. these comments, blog entries, etc...).    But I really don't know what they are good for, other than to demonstrate that you are "vocal" in this community (rather than "just" playing).   You should have at least 2 points now I think.

By the way, if it's not a secret, how did you get these 8 member points ?

Hi Mack50, my normal Canadian federation rating varies from the high-1900s to the low-mid-2100's and my ICCF rating is just below 2000.   The Chess.com requirement to enter a tnmt is 10 rated games and I do agree that it is kind of hard to start at 1200 and have a true representative rating with only 10 completed games (or in my case, 11 or 12 when this tnmt started).

My rating crossed the 1800 mark only the day before this tnmt started, so otherwise I would have been in the 1600-1800 section  Surprised

Two of my "wins" in this section so far are by time-outs.

is it possible Rockvipper who is now leading  group 54 to have only 20 games all wins/14 before this tournament/??? don't you have any condition for minimum played games and true elo, not coming out of the blue with poor elo and sweeping us
