is this still going on? it says it is, but it also says round one is complete, but it ALSO says there is 1 game left, whats on the go?
its been like 3 months, i tied with someone in my bracket and both of us are moving on or somthing, can we just call a draw for any remaining games and move on with this age old tourny?

another irritating thing in the tournament. the only game yet to be finished is in between 2 people who will not effect the outcome of the next round - they have no possiility for advancement!

sure, let them finish out the game for ranking and placing sake - but do they have to delay our next round?

if anyone is bored, check out the biggest upset in this tournament- dejavu beat me when he was 904 and i was 1085... ^^

its awesome... in true bongcloud fashion, i got my king to the other side of the board... except that i lost - it was an awesome game.

ah. dont worry too much. most of the tournaments arnt like this. im in another one that is moving along quite smoothly.

in other news - double advancement in my group. i got tired or waiting for dejavu to whoop me in the second game, so i resigned and we are tied- with tied tiebreakers. woot.

13 block representing twice the odds of victory?

I can't believe how long it takes for people to move! It should have been 1 or 2 days per move. I literally have people waiting until the last minute to move and by the time it comes my turn again, I have forgotten what my next planned move was.  I don't know if I will ever participate in another tournament again if all of them are like this.

a player in my group as gone on vaction, this seems disturbing that players in a tourney can vacation... how will the tourney come to any conclusion?

Being new to chess tournaments, how is the tie break number determined and is it better for it to be bigger or smaller?

C_Roy asked:

This is going to be fun stuff.  Luck to all!

Anybody know what happens if, during the tournament we exceed the 1000 ranking? Are we exempt?

Naturally some people will go back above 1000 if they win a game.  It's normally not a big concern since the bracket contains people who are very close in ranking (within 400 pts. of each other).  There isn't a lot of difference in skill level between someone rated 950 and someone 1050.
