Acropolis 2008: Fire On Board!

Want to see some EXCITING (that is, NOT BORING) grandmaster games?

Check out live coverage of the Acropolis 2008 tournament in Athens, Greece  >>Here<<
(Tournament continues until Sunday, August 17, 2008)

I've been following Chess.com's very own Rakhmanator,
aka GM Aleksandr Rakhmanov, and I have seen some very exciting, very strong games over the last few days.

Here's a little taste:

Rakhmanator's round 4 win yesterday was AWESOME!! He was down a pawn (against 2 connected passers, no less!) at move 35 and had achieved victory by move 53 against a 2565 rated player!!

After 5 rounds, he's tied for 2nd place. Drop him a note & cheer him on!

This just in....

It is possible to beat a strong grandmaster with what one GM calls "not a good game".

There is hope for the rest of us after all! Laughing
