About Me:

I played this fellow on a backstreet in Rangoon, Burma (Yangon, Myanmar) in January 08. I stumbled across this 'chess club' - several boards set up on the street - and after showing interest, was paired against the club champion. He is a tuk-tuk driver, and a bloody good chess player. He played a very well prepared English; appropriate enough, since Burma/Myanmar was once an English colony, It was a really tense game - I played above myself - but he won after I blundered on the 30th move or so. Good on him! Returning to the game after a 30 year absence. My style is Erratic; a mix of positional play, coffeehouse play, and more than a fair share of thunder-blunders, which I am trying hard to eliminate.

Submitted by davidetal on Nov 20, 2008 5:16pm.

By fighting back in this Blitz game, I managed to turn a loss into a win. Not always polite to post wins but, for me at my level, it was nice counter-attack. The diagram starts around when I get into trouble, my BDG opening having been dealt with suc...Read more »
