I'm going in April because it's my senior year and probably my last big high school tournament. Just wondering if anyone else is going.

One way is to google search for chess clubs in your area. For example if you live in Kansas, you can google search kansas chess clubs to find one near you. As for the tournament, sorry about the bad link. You'll have to copy and paste it into the browser to see the info since USCF doesn't allow direct hyperlinks to come through or something.

I **would** drive down there just to see & experience it (since I live just up the Interstate), but unfortunately I'll be photographing a wedding in SC that weekend. My wife and I attended it several years ago as chapparones for a local school's team because we all know that chess teams secretly become wild party animals when nobody's watching. Seriously, it was pretty neat to experience.

sas - You can also search for local clubs on the USCF website. Many (all?) states will have a state-level club and that's also a good place to look. From their site you can usually find informtion on local clubs.
