mate in ONE move

With a preponderence of material, white should have no difficulty finding mate in one...Wink

it's NOT mate in one, since one black piece can move to prolongue the game 1 move. i came to this conclusion and my chess computer too... or is there a chance a computer wouldnt see the fastest solution?

Oh gods. Spent quite some time to figure it out. But it is really obvious, if you know where to look...

And now I'm doubting. I see a solution, but black can block the check...

ok it IS mate in one

 

but the answer is in my opinion faaaar from obvious, as others have said here...

 

and yes, a computer cant solve it - which is quite helpful

My source was "A Guide to Fairy Chess", by Anthony Dickins, but I am sure there are many sources, and would love to read/hear of others!

My source was actually a thin paperbound book (1971) with a list price of $2.00!!

What book do you have, bensw?
