So I have read lots on Openings, lots on endings, but are there any resources out there that have strategy or tips on getting a draw out of a lost position?

You should search in our "Books & Equipment" shop for some endgame books/videos - http://www.chess.com/equipment

It's called a swindle, and there is a number of ways to do it. You can try perpetual check, desperado, setting up a fortress, a skewer or fork(or maybe even pin) to win an important piece that your opponent needs to win, or just put up a great defense and hope your opponent isn't good enough to break it. Keep in mind that a lost position is a psychological win since the worst you can do is lose so your opponent will try everything to win to not lose or draw a "won game". The 50 move rule may apply in some positions enough to help draw.

Using the opposition in the endgame can often win or loose a game.
