Im not a great chessplayer, and i am certanly not a great analyst of games, but i do appreciate beautiful chessgames... Mikhail Tal time and time again delivered mastergames filled with adventure, cunning and guts... One such game is the one posted here... It just fills me with joy anytime i replay it... Chess on this level is an artform... Enjoy and feel free to annotate and discuss....

That's unreal. He's not distracted by his opponent's threats at all, and just works on the mate. I wish I could play like that...

RAEL,

That was the hallmark of Tal's play, he often ignored a threat to come up with an even more powerful stroke of his own.  His career (to some extent) and his life was cut short by kidney disease.

Was this just a regular game?

Yeah I saw this before ... one of the games that got me watching Tal :P .. he's good! ... Ironically enough that rook sac has (I believe) now become 'book' in that line .... I'll have to look it up to make sure.
