I have fritz8 and i was wondering if you can store games on it , if so what is the point of chessbase? If you can save them which i am trying to do how do i get them back after? By the way its not games im playing against fritz8 its games im adding in from otb.

Chessbase has rich search features that enable you to find games similar to your own among the millions in its tournament database spanning back from the times of El Greco to the latest world championships. It self-updates as new games are played. It also has excellent text and graphical annotation features, and it makes it easy to compare different variations. Or maintain and improve  your opening repertoire.

That may not sound like much, but as a rule, once you get it you end up doing most of your chess study inside it. It's that groundbreaking.  :)

ChessDB (aka SCID) is the freeware "equivalent", and it's actually fairly good.

Fritz 8 does have the ability to use store games in a database.  The included db functions are basically a stripped down version of the more expensive database product.  I would also recommend at least trying SCID/ChessDB.  Its not heavy on resources, and does a pretty good job.

Yes, in the Fritz8 software you can go to "File" and then you will see tools for saving games/positions and also a way to open/load games and databases so I believe Fritz8 should be sufficient for what you are trying to do.

cant you use chessbase lite?  I dont really understand it or in what exact ways it's worse than the regular chessbase, but if you already have fritz 8 I would think you could get it to use that engine for your analysis. 

yeah i use the engine for my analysis sstteevveenn. patzer24- i add games from outside get the computer to analise the game with me but at the end when i save it, i cant get it back.

what i mean is, I think you can use chessbase lite, which comes with fritz 6 engine, to use your fritz 8 engine for analysis instead, but keeping all the features that chessbase lite has.  So analysing in chessbase but using fritz 8. 

I have another question. Once i have saved the games in the frita 8 database that i have created how do i save it from there on to a memory stick?
