Halloween Attack.

Just kidding, I don't think there is a best opening, it just depends on your style of playing.

D4, and I aim to prove that with scandinavian or sicilian, e4 is a bad move(no offense if you use it).

actually there is no specific opening for chess..as long as you can control the centre..develope your pieces..you will conquer the game greatly..

1.e4 or 1.d4.. It depends on one's taste as long as he/she always remember that ''CHESS IS A GAME OF UNDERSTANDING AND NOT OF MEMORY''.

Sicilian, Najdorf with either 6.g5 or 6.Bc4    always something interesting to find there. As John Nunn said in his book published 10 years ago and still very enjoyable and informative: "The Najdorf Sicilian is the most important, popular and talked-about chess openings. It is synonymous with the all-time Greats of chess - Tal, Fischer and Kasparov".  It is no accident that the Najdorf Siclian appears so often in Master Tournaments since it does offer wonderful play for both White and Black.

All openings have their own good and bad sides (except for some that are really bad like 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Qh4????). It really depends on what suits your style or what do you feel more comfortable with.
