Move A Day - #5

Submitted by ih8sens on Sat, 05/03/2008 at 2:09pm.

1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 d6 3. d4 cxd4 4. Nxd4 Nf6 5. Nc3

Best Response(s) - There are quite a few similar choices here.

White develops a piece himself whilst defending his pawn at the same time.  As troops are mustered into battle each side must carefully balance their saftely while still focusing (primarily) into getting at the other side first.  Neither side has commited to castle on either side (or at all) and so development is less focused on a simple attack, this game has many 'layers'.

Don't know if the comment will change the outcome... but I would like to see a similar improvement, as mentioned by Feldmm1.

Additionally, if possible, post the entirety of the "lesson" in 1 day.  It was great to read through a move-by-move analysis.  However, having to wait "a day" was kind of a drag.

Maybe if you chose a game with more action instead of following the main line of the sicilian dragon... I thought I read somewhere that Morphy could "create an attack out of the opening through accurate play", so I am guessing that the dynamic play would attract readers more than a lesson on the mainline of the sicilian dragon.

Hhahahahaha ... well I've kinda killed the series due to lack of interest.

the idea was to make a small portion of the site for this thing (erik and I had talked about it a bit) .. but we tried it here first to get an idea of the interest level...

my highest number of reads was just over 100.. not worth the effort.

Move a day? Considering how long it is taking for you to post 5b, I would say the average time for you to post a move is at least a week.
